PDP will never rule Lagos - Oba of Lagos says

The Oba of Lagos, HRH Rilwan Akiolu, says the PDP will never win the governorship election in Lagos state. Oba Akilo said this while speaking at the autobiography launch of former President of the Court of Appeal, Mustapha Akanbi, at the Sheraton Hotel in Abuja this morning

“Recently, I told Bode George, (Musiliu) Koro and (Adeseye) Ogunlewe that “Look at me o! You will never win Lagos. God will give us another APC governor” he said (Source - Premium Times)

Popular movie marketer Femi Adelakun dies

Popular Yoruba movie marketer and chairman of Zentury Pictures, Femi Adelakun, died suddenly today November 26th in his home. Adelakun, who was also a member of the Oyo State House of Assembly complained that he wasn't feeling well when he suddenly fell. He was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead. May his soul rest in peace...amen.

'I'm married to only one woman & we still share same bed 43 years later" - Alake of Egbaland

Unlike many title holders, the Alake of Egbaland HRH Oba Michael Adedotun Gbadebo is married to only one woman, Olori Tokunbo, and they have been married for 43 years. They say he's the only long serving Oba in this country with only one wife. He became Alake of Egbaland in 2005.

The Oba revealed recently at a wedding where he was the chairman that he still shares the same bed with his wife and mother of his children, this was after he praised her for being an incredible partner. He said they have a strong bond and he never had the need to marry another woman.

The Oba who is 71, said his grandfather had 24 wives, while his own father had 3 but he decided one wife was enough and despite the fact that he was an Oba, he and his wife have always shared same room and same bed and that is how it will remain till death do them part. Aww, what a great man!

Don't know which part of Lagos he lives in, but if two Cobras visit in just a month, isn't that a dangerous place to live? At NAFDAC Busstop, Oshodi, Lagos, I was in the bus when this police man did this to us in the bus, a public bus (danfo). We were all seated in the bus and the bus was moving, when the policeman threw an iron rod at the window, which broke and scattered on all passengers, injuring a girl seated close to the window. We reported the case to the police men who where driving past, they just told us to go and meet the policeman and drove off, left us to our fate". See the photos after the cut...

Lagos APC Data Centre is not for cloning PVCs

The All Progressives Congress has rejected the allegation that its data centre in Lagos was used to clone the Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). Alhaji Lai Mohammed, APC National Publicity Secretary, at a media briefing in Lagos said the centre was only used to develop the database of its members.

On Saturday, the APC in a statement alleged that its data centre in Lagos was invaded by security agents. The Department of State Service (DSS) also on Sunday said that its decision to raid the premises was as a result of a petition which alleged that some persons were using the place to clone PVCs.

But Mohammed told journalist at the venue: "The allegation by the DSS is wrong, nothing but getting our database went on in this place.”

FCT Minister Boasts: I Have Sent 25 Okada Riders To Prison

The special taskforce set up by the Federal Capital Territory to clean up Abuja has secured the conviction and sentencing of 25 operators of “Okada” motorcycles to jail without the option of fines.

FCT Minister Bala Mohammed made this disclosure on Monday during a briefing in Gwarimpa I District (Life-Camp), Abuja. Mohammed revealed that the taskforce to date had prosecuted 41 offenders at the mobile courts, culminating in the conviction and sentencing of 25 Okada riders to jail.

Mr. Mohammed disclosed that the taskforce had also arrested 492 commercial sex workers in the city.
